From day one of meeting my boy Chico I knew we were in for a wild ride. This chubby, big headed puppy, stood stoic like Hercules, ready to take on the world in a single instant. Yet with all his strength and might, his floppy ears would fall in the same direction and you would see that he’s the goofiest fur baby you could ever meet.

It’s hurts coming home and not hearing him tap dancing at the door waiting to receive hugs and run around the yard. We call him Pink boy because when he would get excited his whole body turned pink lol.

Knowing he helped break the stereotypes of the infamous Pit Bull and carved out his own path of love joy and family. I was and am proud to tell the world who Chico The Pit-Bull was. His life was full of love and belly rubs from all of the people he touched with his kind hearted eyes and sweetheart mannerism.

I was in the National Guard and there would be long stretches of time I would be away from home but, I was never worried about leaving my family, I knew they were in the capable paws of my Pink Boy, Chico. Usually, a Hero is depicted wearing a cape and donning bright colors, but that wasn’t our case, our hero stood strong on four legs with a keen sense of smell.

One night, as my family slept away, Chico had a sense of urgency to wake his mother up. There was a gas leak in the basement that started working its way up through the vents and if he hadn’t woken her up, who knows what could have happened.

Pink Boy, Chico is truly an animal that’s memory deserves to be told on for Eternity, he is a truly special soul.
